Attorney Justin Lake Now a Partner at the Firm

We have a few exciting announcements. First, we want to share that Attorney Justin Lake is now a partner at the firm! Justin has been with us since 2018, bringing a wealth of experience and insight into how the prosecution works. Before joining our team, Justin was an Assistant State's Attorney with the Howard County State's Attorney's Office. There he prosecuted DUI/DWI and misdemeanor cases and quickly moved to the circuit court division, where he handled felony matters.

Justin's talents shined when he joined our firm. His breadth and depth of legal knowledge and his courtroom experience were instrumental in helping grow our practice, as he has defended a range of criminal cases. We are excited that he is taking on this new role and offer our warmest congratulations!

We are also pleased to announce that David Zwanetz and Justin will serve as co-managers of the firm, with Jason Shapiro transitioning to "Of Counsel." To better reflect the recent changes, our firm name will also be changing to Shapiro Zwanetz & Lake (SZL).
